Hello everybody,

I would appreciate some help in this matter.

I am a teacher in a Charter School. (Country Gardens Charter School, Laveen, AZ)

On June 1, I was in classroom and there were flies in the classroom bugging the students. I tried to catch one and unfortunately I cut my finger with a metal edge from the ceiling. When I went to the office, the prinicipal recommended that I go to the Doctor b/c the injury looked bad. She also told me not to say it happened at work so Workmans Comp would not be involved...I went to my doctor and had to get 5 stitches.

Now, my insurance is billing me $125.00. I asked the Principal of the School to please report the incident to Workmans Comp and this is the response I got:

C/P

I checked and the injury was not related to your job so we can not help.

XXXXXX

I called my insurance and reported the answer I got from the principal and they told me to bypass HR from school and try to contact someone here, at Workman Comp and report the incident.

Would someone please give me some advice on this matter. I don't know what else to do or where to go.

Thank you very much for your help in this matter.
