Minneapolis, MN (CompNewsNetwork) - The Minnesota Department of Commerce has approved the above captioned filing effective January 1, 2010.

The purpose of this filing is to eliminate the Table of Classifications by Hazard Group – 4 Group Option contained in the Minnesota Basic Manual. MWCIA has been notified by NCCI that they will no longer be supporting the four-hazard group system on or after October 1, 2009.

MWCIA will retain the 7 Hazard Group Option.

If your company previously filed and received approval from the Minnesota Department of Commerce to adopt the 7 Hazard Group Option, no action is necessary. However, if your company has not adopted the 7 Hazard Group Option and instead has filed to adopt the 4 Hazard Group Option, your company will need to make a filing to adopt the 7 Hazard Group Option with the Minnesota Department of Commerce by November 1, 2009 to accommodate the January 1, 2010 effective date.
