Marlene Reed Joins CompPartners As Utilization Review Manager

Irvine, CA (CompNewsNetwork) - CompPartners has selected Marlene Reed, RN to serve as utilization review manager. Her responsibilities include ensuring timely recommendations addressing medical necessity and appropriateness of requested treatment while maintaining a focus on quality medical care and adherence to evidence-based medical guidelines. 
 
Reed brings more than 20 years experience in health care and managed care to the position. She has a strong background in training and development, quality improvement, credentialing, and accreditation preparation. 
 
Most recently, Reed worked for Odyssey Healthcare as director/manager of patient care services. Previously, as project manager for customer service at PacifiCare, she was responsible for projects related to regulatory issues, including HIPAA and Medicare Part D. 
 
She holds a Masters of Health Care Administration from the University of La Verne in La Verne, Calif. and a Bachelor of Health Science degree from Chapman University in Orange, Calif. She is a Licensed California Registered Nurse and has held certifications in healthcare quality and diabetes education.
