Baton Rouge, LA (CompNewsNetwork) - Renee Ellender Roberie has been named chief financial officer for the Louisiana Workforce Commission, effective Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009.

Roberie has been with the Office of the Louisiana Legislative Auditor since 1999, serving as senior auditor in the performance audit division since 2001. Among the performance audits she oversaw during her tenure were the Louisiana Land Trust, State Police Crime Lab, Department of Transportation and Development Construction Division, labor training activities and residential tax assessment practices. She also served as auditor-in-charge of special projects such as insurance rate quotes for hurricane-affected areas and a legislative inquiry into municipalities with reportedly excessive speed limit enforcement.

“Renee’s experience in analyzing the performance of labor training activities will be a tremendous asset as our department continues to look at ways to streamline operations, contain costs and maximize our funding resources,” said Curt Eysink, executive director of the Louisiana Workforce Commission.

“As a lifelong Louisiana resident, I am dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of state government, and I am looking forward to this new opportunity to serve the state of Louisiana,” said Roberie.

She is a Certified Internal Auditor as well as a Certified Government Auditing Professional. She is a past president and current member of the Board of Governors for the Baton Rouge chapter, Institute of Internal Auditors.

Roberie holds bachelor’s degrees from LSU in mass communications and political science, and in 1999, earned a master’s of public administration degree with a specialization in internal audit from LSU.
