Florida DWC Issues Annual Joint Fraud Report

Tallahassee, FL (WCNPC) - The Florida Division of Workers' Compensation and Florida Division of Insurance Fraud have issued their annual joint report on workers' comp fraud and related legal activity. The 11 page report details investigation, prosecution and restitution results for the period of July 1, 2005 thru June 30, 2006.

The report indicates that workers' compensation fraud restitution for the period was a "very impressive 42%" of the total restitution received by the Division of Insurance for the year.  It also states that the Division of Insurance Fraud's Bureau of Workers' Compensation Fraud under the leadership of Chief Jeff Korte surpassed the prior years record of 213 workers' comp fraud arrests.
