Challenges in Impairment and Pain Evaluation: Brigham and Associates To Host ?Next Step? AMA Guides Seminar
Irvine, CA (WCNPC) - Brigham and Associates, Inc., (www.impairment.com) is offering an advanced case-oriented seminar on AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Fifth Edition. The seminar is in Irvine, California on August 2 and San Francisco on August 4. Chris Brigham, MD, Phil Walker, JD and other experts on the Guides are leading this learning experience. The unique combination of a physician and attorney, both national leaders in impairment evaluation, permits a dynamic exploration of the issues associated with workers? compensation cases. The Guides are the most widely used resource to define the impact of a work-related or personal injury. Unfortunately, most impairment ratings are incorrect; thus the need for training on the appropriate use of the AMA Guides.
To assure that the needs of the attendees are addressed, Dr. Brigham and Mr. Walker have held a large teleconference in advance discussing the challenges professionals face and are having professionals pose their specific questions about the Guides at http://www.askchrisbrighamandphilwalker.com. The use of advanced teleconference calls and specifically soliciting input via the Internet is a very useful approach to assuring that a conference exceeds the expectations of its attendees. This advanced seminar will provide attendees with the knowledge to assess impairment using the AMA Guides in complex areas such as spinal, upper and lower extremity injuries. Experiential training is very effective and therefore this unique program is designed around specific cases exercises. There will also be discussion on common areas of misuse and abuse of the Guides along with current trends seen with erroneous ratings.
Brigham and Associates, Inc. was founded in 1995, and is recognized as the nation's leading resources on impairment and disability evaluation. For more information about this seminar or to register, please call Mindy Brigham at 619/299-7377 or e-mail Mindy at mbrigham@brighamassociates.com.
