CHSWC Releases "Selected Indicators in Workers' Compensation: 2008 Report Card for California"
Oakland, CA (CompNewsNetwork) – The Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation (CHSWC) has released "Selected Indicators in Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation: 2008 Report Card for California." As part of its mandate to conduct a continuing examination of California's health and safety and workers' compensation systems, CHSWC has compiled data from and for the entire workers' compensation community. This overview is intended to be a reference for monitoring the ongoing system and serve as an empirical basis for proposing improvements.
The Report Card incorporates data derived from many sources within the workers' compensation community and will be continually updated as needed. The online Report Card, available at the CHSWC website, www.dir.ca.gov/chswc, will reflect the latest information.
CHSWC is charged with examining the health and safety and workers' compensation systems in California and recommending administrative or legislative modifications to improve their operation. CHSWC was established to conduct a continuing examination of the workers' compensation system and of the state's activities to prevent industrial injuries and occupational diseases and to examine those programs in other states.
