The Missouri Department of Labor And Industrial Relations Named Alisa Warren Executive Director Of The Missouri Commission On Human Rights

Jefferson City, MO (CompNewsNetwork) - The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations is pleased to announce the appointment of Alisa Warren to serve as the Executive Director of the Missouri Commission on Human Rights. Warren's appointment was effective Jan. 7, 2008.

“I’m looking forward to working with the Commission to develop and implement more ways to eliminate disparity in the workplace,” said Warren. “It is my desire to enhance our training of Missouri’s working public on topics such as sexual harassment prevention and cultural sensitivity,” added Warren.

Prior to joining the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Warren was employed by the University of Missouri—Columbia for the past five years. Her previous state service included employment with the Office of Administration as Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity. She also served a stint at the Department of Economic Development as Interim Executive Director of the Missouri Community Service Commission.

Warren holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design and a master’s degree in Public Administration – both from the University of Missouri—Columbia . She currently is working toward a doctorate degree in Community Development with an emphasis in Social Disparity at the University of Missouri—Columbia, School of Applied Sociology. She anticipates completion of her doctorate degree in December 2008.

Warren has resided in Columbia, Mo., since 1972
