Regional Workplace Safety Summit Offered in Dallas on October 17

Austin, TX (WorkersCompensation.com) - The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (TDI-DWC) will present a regional workplace safety workshop for employers and employees on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the American Airlines Training & Conference Center at 4501 Highway 360 in Fort Worth. The Dallas Safety Summit is one of several Regional Safety Summits offered by the TDI-DWC in multiple regions around the state. The seminar will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The cost is $99 per person and includes coffee and snacks.

Topics that will be covered at the Dallas Safety Summit include:

  • Workplace Violence Prevention: Recognizing and Defusing Potential Violence; Securing the Workplace; and Safely Hiring and Firing;
  • Keys to Safety Success: Management Commitment and Participation; Record Keeping; Safety Analysis; Health and Safety Training; Safety Inspection; Accident Reporting and Investigation; and Program Review;
  • Preventing Transportation Incidents: Use and Abuse of Drugs and Alcohol; Driving Distractions; Defensive Driving Techniques; and Stress Reduction Methods; and
  • Safety Training Triple Play: Lockout/Tagout training; Hazard Communication training; and Personal Protective Equipment training.

Employers and employees attending the Dallas Safety Summit will be able to choose the sessions most valuable to their industry and workplace.
