TX Gov. Makes Appointment to Texas Institute of Health Care Quality and Efficiency

Austin, TX (WorkersCompensation.com) - Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Shannon Stansbury of Dallas to the Texas Institute of Health Care Quality and Efficiency for a term to expire Jan. 31, 2013. The institute will improve health care quality, accountability, education and cost to the state by encouraging health care provider collaboration, effective health care delivery models and coordination of health care services.

Stansbury is a certified health insurance executive and vice president of health care delivery for BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member and past president of St. Thomas Holy Name Society. He is a past board member of the Mental Health Association of Greater Dallas and the Bishop Lynch High School Board of Directors.

Stansbury received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University.
