Texas Issues Stakeholder Meeting on Recent Legislation Set for August 27 - Revised

AUSTIN, TX (CompNewsNetwork) - The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), Division of Workers' Compensation (Division), will hold a stakeholder meeting at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2007. The purpose of the meeting is to provide workers' compensation system participants an opportunity to comment on the implementation of workers' compensation legislation passed by the 80th Texas Legislature.

The stakeholder meeting will be held in the Tippy Foster Room at the Division’s Central Office, 7551 Metro Center Dr., Suite 100 in Austin. The meeting will not be audiocast, video streamed or teleconferenced.

The schedule for the meeting, including legislation and topics to be discussed, is as follows:

9 - 11 a.m. House Bill (HB) 2004 (Professional Specialty Certification)
11 a.m. -12 p.m. HB 473 and Senate Bill 1169 (Interlocutory Orders)
12 - 1:30 p.m. Lunch Break
1:30 - 3 p.m. HB 724 (Medical Dispute Resolution to Contested Case Hearing)
3:30 - 5 p.m. HB 724 (Sub-claimant)
