CA DWC Medical Unit Is Accepting Applications For Its Upcoming Qualified Medical Evaluator Examination

Oakland, CA (CompNewsNetwork) - The Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) Medical Unit is now accepting applications for the qualified medical evaluator (QME) examination, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007.  The deadline for filing exam applications is Sep. 6, 2007. QMEs are independent physicians certified by the DWC Medical Unit to conduct medical evaluations of injured workers.

An exam site in Southern California and one in Northern California will be chosen about a month prior to the exam date, once the number of applicants is determined.

Applications for the QME exam may be downloaded from the DWC Web site at http://www.dir.ca.gov/IMC/exampacket.pdf. Applicants may also contact the DWC Medical Unit at 510-286-3700 to request an application via U.S. mail or fax.
