Texas Workplace Seminars to be held in Tyler and Laredo

AUSTIN, TX (CompNewsNetwork) - The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers' Compensation (Division) is hosting Educational Sessions in Tyler and Laredo, June 13th and 27th respectively.

The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation will present a one-day educational seminar on Seven of OSHA’s Top Ten Violations in 2006, on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The seminar will take place at Holiday Inn Civic Center, 800 Garden Street in Laredo. The cost is $125 per person. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

This eight-hour seminar will focus on seven of the top ten cited standards as reported by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in November 2006:

Scaffold Safety – 29 CFR 1926.4512;
Fall Protection – 29 CFR 1926.501;
Hazard Communication – 29 CFR 1910.1200;
Respiratory Protection – 29 CFR 1910.134;
Lockout/Tagout – 29 CFR 1910.147;
Powered Industrial Trucks – 29 CFR 1910.178; and
Ladders – 29 CFR 1926.1053.
