HARTFORD, CT (CompNewsNetwork) - Specialty Risk Services (SRS), one of the nation's largest property casualty third party administrators for workers' compensation and liability claims, announces the augmentation of its suite of consultative client support tools with the appointment of Kenneth F. Martino, Jr. as Senior Vice President for all of SRS' Account Management and Retention functions.

Based in SRS' headquarters in Hartford, Conn., Martino has most recently managed the portfolio of SRS' largest clients, integrating highly customized claim service programs, dedicated operations and risk management consultation practices. In his expanded role, Martino will further refine his highly-successful strategies and seek to enhance the level of client support across the SRS book of business.

Prior to joining Specialty Risk Services in 1999, Martino, a benchmarking and performance measurement specialist, served as National Practice Leader for Workers' Compensation for Tillinghast-Towers Perrin, including serving on their Total Health Management leadership team. He has also held a variety of management positions in claims, medical management and underwriting at Travelers Insurance Company. Mr. Martino earned his M.B.A. and bachelor's degree, both with a concentration in Finance, from the University of Connecticut at Storrs. He is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).

In a recent national survey of Risk Managers conducted by SRS, participants identified three key attributes they most seek when selecting a third party administrator. According to Joe Boures, President of SRS, "Risk Managers cited the quality of the claims professionals, the ability to provide consultative support and the ability of the TPA to effectively manage overall loss costs as being most critical to them. Ken Martino has the track record and the expertise to ensure creative and consistent solutions in all three areas."

This change in SRS' management follows the recent announcement by Governor M. Jodi Rell of the appointment of Thomas R. Sullivan, SRS' Senior Vice President, Account Management, as Connecticut State Insurance Commissioner. "Tom Sullivan's contributions in the development of SRS client benchmarking & support tools really lays the ground work for our future strategies, and will help ensure success in our vision of providing the kind of comprehensive, tailor-made support that our customers increasingly seek," Boures said.
