Joseph Paduda

Principal of Health Strategy Associates

Joseph Paduda is the principal of Health Strategy Associates, a consulting firm that is active in managed care and workers’ compensation.  He is also a nationally recognized expert, speaker and author.  

In workers’ comp, his expertise lies in reducing medical costs and total claims costs by analyzing payer data, processes, and systems and identifying cost-savings solutions in claims and medical management, pharmacy programs and technology.  Mr. Paduda has also conducted five annual surveys on containing pharmaceutical costs in workers’ compensation.

Health Strategy Associates consults with managed care organizations, carriers and self-insured employers throughout the United States to develop products and services that deliver true savings.  Prior to forming his own company, Mr. Paduda was vice president of sales, marketing and account management for MetraComp, a United Health Care Company specializing in managed care for workers’ compensation and group disability.  He previously worked for Travelers Health Company, Liberty Mutual and American International Healthcare, the managed care subsidiary of AIG. 

Mr. Paduda has appeared on Fox Business’ Money for Breakfast, Nightline and NPR’s Marketplace and been quoted in numerous publications, including the New York Times, Washington Post, CFO and Business Finance magazine.  His articles have been published in Business Insurance, National Underwriter, Compensation and Benefits Review, Risk and Insurance, and the Journal of Workers’ Compensation and can be found at www.healthstrategyassoc.com.
